Here in Portland, Oregon, living green is the standard. Much like the PETA activists, environmentalists will do just about anything to get their pro-green beliefs out to the public. Is it really that big of a deal? Does it matter that everyone practices the EPA’s Reduce-Reuse-Recycle methods? Whatever the answer is for you, I think that being conscientious about your decisions is very important and knowing your impact on the environment around you.
I am very skeptical of the USA’s recycling program and wonder if it is actually helpful or not. Rather than focusing on recycling, I have tried to focus more on using LESS. Conservation. The less paper you use, the less paper you waste. The less water you let run while you’re brushing your teeth or just standing in the shower waiting to wake up, the more water you conserve.
I recently ordered a couple items from BestBuy.com. A mini displayport to DVI apple adapter and a simple jump drive. BestBuy seems to not be too worried about wasting shipping materials seeing as they put the PAPER-THIN jump drive into a (relatively) large box. Watch the video below for my thoughts.
Do you think that being green is still a perk in our lifestyles or has it become more of a requirement? Let me know!
